Bloemfontein Home Affairs continuing as normal─── MARK STEENBOK 18:15 Tue, 14 Aug 2018

It was all systems go at the Department of Home Affairs in Bloemfontein on Tuesday.
This comes after a power outage at the State Information Technology Agency (Sita) on Friday affected operations of the department across the country.
Offices were unable to render all services including all birth, marriages, death, smart ID and passport services.
The Departmental spokesperson, Thabo Mokgola, earlier confirmed to OFM News that the offices were reopened on Monday.
It’s however not clear whether this will have an effect and create a serious backlog. When OFM-news visited the Bloemfontein offices in town on Tuesday, services were continuing as normal.
