Bethlehem - Four Paws Operational Director Fiona Miles says the staff at the organisation’s Lionsrock Big Cat Sanctuary near Bethlehem in the Free State is still reeling after two Austrians were killed in an accident during a game drive on Saturday.
Miles says the cause of the accident is not yet known but is being investigated. Although she could not release the names of the deceased, she did confirm that one man was a Four Paws employee.
Another seven Austrian guests and two South Africans were injured. They are in a stable condition in Mediclinic Hoogland, and according to spokesperson Karien Collett they are expected to be released today.

Miles says Four Paws is doing everything in its power to expedite the investigation process and support those injured in the accident. She says they were all involved in an animal welfare project.
Police spokesperson Majang Skalkie meanwhile confirmed that police are investigating a case of culpable homicide.
