Brits - A North West lawyer from Brits appeared before the Specialised Commercial Crime Unit Court in Pretoria today on several counts of trust fund theft.
She was arrested in Klerksdorp at her parents' residence last night. Adri Bester was struck off the roll by the Law Society of South Africa and arrested in 2009 where after her case was provisionally withdrawn.
According to police spokesperson Thulani Ngubane, she was arrested for defrauding several beneficiaries of a trust fund to the tune of R12.5 million:
Bester was granted free bail and will appear again on March 7.
