Lejweleputswa district’s #MatricResults a matter of concern - Cosas─── 16:23 Thu, 09 Jan 2020

The Lejweleputswa District is in the last place in the Free State with its matric results, according to the Matric 2019 Inclusive Districts Results report.
The Congress of South African Students (Cosas) in the Free State’s Lejweleputswa district says it is concerned about the state of education in the district.
Suping Tsunke, the spokesperson of Cosas, says they are urging the Free State Department of Education to do something about the district director, Phaello Zonke. Among other issues, they are concerned with overcrowding in classes, school gangsterism and older school buildings with poor infrastructure that are not conducive to learning.
Tsunke says recently the district has consistently occupied the lower positions in terms of provincial performance results. He says this is the result of the district director who never takes concern in her learners. He further added that they have been calling for the removal of Zonke. He says they want her to account for what she has done to change the state of education of the district and why her strategy is not working.
OFM News tried to contact the district director for comment, but by the time of publishing, she still said she is in a meeting.
