#BreakingNews: Missing girl's body found in wardrobe | News Article

The body of a nine-year-old girl who has been missing since 1 September was found near her home in Kroonstad in the Free State.

According to police spokesperson, Motantsi Makhele, the body of Bokamoso Mesi was allegedly found on Saturday after children were playing in the street when they sensed a bad smell coming from a shack not far from the missing girl's home.

The children then alerted community members who have been assisting in looking for the 9-year-old girl. Makhele further reports the group inspected the shack and found that it was locked whereafter they forced entry. He explains that Bokamoso's body was found in a wardrobe. The police were then alerted about the discovery.

Makhele adds that it is alleged that the owner of the shack was attacked by angry community members. He says police tried to intervene but were also attacked.

The police ultimately managed to apprehend the owner from the attack but was later declared dead by the emergency medical services.

Meanwhile, the Provincial Commissioner, Baile Motswenyane, is appealing to the community to be calm and give the family time to mourn the loss of their daughter.
