The municipal mayor, Patrick Mabilo, says there are currently eight water tanks that are supplying hospitals in Kimberley with water, with more to follow. He adds that the fire department has sacrificed their tank to supply Yonder and The Clinics with water. 

Mabilo adds that an aeroplane has also been arranged to facilitate the oversight of the water line from Riverton to Kimberley. He says this forms part of a list of contingency plans that have been drawn up in hopes of providing water to community members.

External stakeholders such as Hancor Dairy have offered assistance through ensuring water supply from the Newton Reservoir to Kimberley.

Mabilo says another six tanks are being sourced and will be directed towards the provision of water for the communities of Kimberley.

He says that the mayoral committee apologises for any inconvenience caused, adding community members' patience in this regard is humbly requested.

The proceedings have been put in place as many angered community members voiced their unhappiness with regards to their inaccessibility to water. OFM News previously reported on the issues at hand.
