Lesedi FM presenter appoints new attorney─── LUCKY NKUYANE 11:32 Fri, 09 Jul 2021
The fraud case between Lesedi FM award-winning presenter and the state was delayed at the Bloemfontein Regional Court on Friday.
The matter between Motseki Leine, also known as Ba2cada, and the state was postponed on Friday morning after Leine informed the presiding Magistrate, Collen Nekosie, through his legal representative that he has appointed a new attorney, Mkhosi Radebe, to represent him in the fraud matter.
Nekosie then postponed Liene’s case - who is out on R5 000 bail - to 5 and 6 October 2021 for plea and trial. Leine and his company Ba2cada Entertainment Pty Ltd face charges of fraud after he was arrested by the Hawks for allegedly submitting false VAT returns between 2014 and 2018.
The state prosecutor, Wellington Zamubuntu Sampisi, previously told Nekosie that the state is ready to take the matter against Leine to trial. The Botshabelo-born presenter earlier responded to his arrest and said he will prove that he does not make a lot of money as it has been alleged.
