#Elections2021: Slow start at NC IEC polls─── LUCKY NKUYANE 08:36 Mon, 01 Nov 2021
It has been a slow start to the 2021 Local Government Elections with a relatively small number of residents turning up at the different voting stations in Kimberley.
This, as thousands of Northern Cape residents are expected to take to the polls this morning. The Witdam Voting Station in Ward 4, Galeshewe, was among the first to open its doors to kick-start these much anticipated municipal elections. One of the early birds at the voting station and a resident of Galeshewe, Sandiseni Sithole, says he hopes that things can only get better from now on.
Another resident, who was also waiting with much anticipation to cast his vote, explained that residents can only try to bring about change by voting. The two are part of 623 000 registered voters in the province.
