Charlize Theron and Trevor Noah both presented on stage at the 91st Academy Awards at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles and turned heads while doing so.

Theron chose an elegant pale blue backless Dior gown and completed the look with Bulgari jewellery and a sleek new brunette hairdo, while Noah looked dapper in a black Salvatore Ferragamo tux with bow tie and Burberry shoes.

Noah presented the eight Best Picture nominees while Theron took the stage with current James Bond actor, Daniel Craig, to present Best Supporting Actor.

This caused for some hilarity on Twitter as several users took to the social media platform to ‘declare’ their support for Charlize being cast as the next James Bond with Daniel Craig as her ‘Bond girl boy toy.’

Trevor caused an uproar for saying a phrase in his mother tongue, IsiXhosa, and told the audience it translated to, “In times like these we are stronger when we fight together than when we fight apart.”

What he actually said was “white people don’t know I’m lying.” Needless to say, that broke the Internet too and Twitter users had a field day.

"Green Book" capped a great awards season by taking home the Oscar for best picture.

The film, which won several awards this season - including a Golden Globe for best motion picture and best screenplay - came out on top at the Academy Awards.

"We made this film with love, we made it with respect, and we made it with tenderness," producer Jim Burke said.

Director Peter Farrelly heaped praise on star Viggo Mortensen, without whom he said the film would not have been made.

The film was also a boon for star Mahershala Ali, who won an Oscar, Golden Globe, Screen Actors Guild and BAFTA awards for best supporting actor.

"Green Book" also won an Oscar for best original screenplay.
