Reiger Park toddler murder case postponed─── 11:45 Wed, 10 Dec 2014
Boksburg - The case against a man accused of murdering and setting alight a Reiger Park toddler was postponed in the Boksburg Magistrate's Court on Wednesday.
Nathaniel Katlego Mpoku, 25, waddled his way into the courtroom with his legs cuffed, making it difficult to move.
His case was postponed to December 17 for the director of public prosecutions to make a decision on whether to commence with his prosecution.
Dressed in a yellow sweater with a pink hoodie, he kept his head bowed as he stood in the dock, avoiding any eye contact with people in the court's public gallery.
Mpoku is alleged to have killed Cuburne van Wyk of Ramsey's informal settlement in Reiger Park, Ekurhuleni, in August.
The little boy disappeared on August 6 while playing outside with his siblings.
His body was discovered by a passer-by at a mine dump in Reiger Park three days later.
Police said he died as a result of multiple head injuries and burn wounds.
Mpoku was arrested and charged for his murder several days later.
