Cape Town - A 25-year old man fell to his death on Lion's Head in Cape Town on Wednesday morning, the Table Mountain National Park (TMNP) said.
"He was hiking with his fiancée and five-year-old son," TMNP spokeswoman Merle Collins said.
"He was standing on the edge of the footpath when the rock gave way. He slipped and he fell."
The body was airlifted from one of the ledges of the footpath by an Air Mercy Services helicopter to lower ground, where paramedics declared him dead. The man's identity was not yet known.
"The fiancée was taken for trauma counselling," Collins said.
