Student misconduct case at NWU finalised─── DANE DANE 15:39 Thu, 19 Feb 2015
Potchefstroom - The North West University has finalised the matter regarding three of its students accused of misconduct.
Two admitted guilt while there was insufficient evidence to link the third student to the offence and he is now free to return to the hostel.
This follows after an incident in which first-year students from the Hombré hostel were involved in a scuffle with a senior member of staff on the Potchefstroom campus earlier this year. Deon de Beer of the technological support services hurt his back in the process.
Seven other students have already been tried by a disciplinary committee.
University spokesperson Louis Jacobs says the three remaining students were set to appear before the same committee yesterday, but this was abandoned in light of certain developments.
