In tennis, all the spots in the US Open semi-finals have been booked.
Serena Williams claimed her spot in the last four when she beat Tsvetana Pironkova 4-6, 6-3, 6-2, as her quest for a record-equaling 24th Grand Slam title continues.
She’ll face the two-time finalist, Victoria Azarenka, at 2:15 on Friday morning.
Before that, Jennifer Brady will take on Naomi Osaka at 1 am.
Earlier on Thursday morning, Dominic Thiem walked into the semis with a straight-sets 6-1, 6-2, 6-4 win over Alex de Minaur, and will now face Daniil Medvedev in that semi-final, while the second men's semi-final will be played between Pablo Carreno Busta and Alexander Zverev.
