Police play watchdog role in Kuruman road construction─── OWEN KOCK 13:10 Thu, 13 Nov 2014

Kuruman - Police in Kuruman are playing a watchdog role in the road construction process in order to avoid conflict between the contractors Tau Pele and Down Touch Investments and the community.
This is according to the spokesperson for the Joe Morolong Road Forum, Kagisho Gaborokwe.
In recent weeks construction happened sporadically due to unhappiness by members of the community not in the employ of the contractors. Gaborokwe says construction is now going ahead full steam.
The road forum and members of the community held violent protests over a 130km section of road they wanted tarred, which lead to schools shutting down for more than three months.

This resulted in matriculants missing the 2014 National Senior Certificate exams, which they will now only be able to write early next year.
Grades R to 11 learners will repeat the year.
