Bloemfontein - Police in Bloemfontein have launched a manhunt for three suspects who gunned down a taxi driver in Kagisanong on Thursday night.
Free State police spokesperson, Peter Kareli, says the taxi driver arrived back at his employer’s place at around 20:00 to park his vehicle and was on his way home when he was approached by three armed men. He says the men started shooting at the unknown taxi driver. He sustained multiple gunshot wounds to his head and upper body and died on the scene.
Kareli said a bystander was also hit by a stray bullet and was taken to hospital where he was treated for a gunshot wound to the leg.
The police made a plea to residents to contact the Kagisanong police station if they have any information on the incident.
So far the deceased has been identified as a Lesotho citizen and is suspected to be between the age of 30 and 35.
