• 1906: Ferdie Bergh, SA rugby Springbok, is born in Stellenbosch.
• 1935: Horace (Jock) Cameron (30), SA cricket player in twenty-six tests, dies in Johannesburg.
• 1966: Rosalyn Fairbank, SA born tennis player, is born.
• 1982: Nayoko Yoshikawa wins LPGA Pioneer Cup Golf Tournament.
