This is according to ENS Africa Executive, Aidan Scallan, who was explaining the policy document to the OFM Business Hour. Scallan says "the policy document sets out how the Department of Trade Industry and Competition (DTIC) views the policy aiding its broader objectives". This latest development will enable the DTIC led by Minister Ebrahim Patel, to participate in more mergers and acquisitions in the future. This is to help ensure that jobs aren’t lost in mergers and acquisitions or that broad based ownership is lowered in such transactions.
