The 29-year old Mojalefa “Jali” Molusi was arrested in Phase 2 on Wednesday, January 9 after a long police search since the murder on 10 May 2018. Molusi has been placed at the murder scene by authorities when the then Managing Director of day hospital, City Med, was murdered in the basement parking area of Preller Square in broad daylight. The 29-year-old man is believed to be a repeat offender and is a suspect in two double murders. The number of people directly or indirectly linked to the much-reported murder, who are now in police custody, stands at seven.

His appearance today comes after accused one to three in the matter (businessman, Stanley Bakili, Bayswater Detective, Molebatsi Mogoera, and court orderly, Kagiso Chabane) were denied bail yesterday following delayed bail proceedings. Magistrate Marlene Marais said in her judgment that the defense in the matter had failed to show exceptional circumstances that support the accused’s release out on bail. Marais maintained that it is in fact in the interest of justice that the accused be denied bail out of concern that they would attempt to tamper with evidence or intimidate witnesses.
