The Director of Students recruitment, Nomonde Mbadi, says the stars of stars event is very close to her heart as she got to work and select the top ten learners from a group of 20 learners who achieved top honours.

Mbadi says they have received more than 100 applications from 44 schools in different regions that included Lejweleputswa, Motheo and Xhariep.

Meanwhile, the Rector and Vice-Chancellor of the UFS and one of the judges, Prof. Francis Peterson, says the transition and transformation he saw in these pupils during the last month is remarkable and must be commended.

He says he feels proud and humbled to have been part of the programme that seeks to nurture and groom these learners with the hope of becoming better and great leaders.

Marc Scholtz, the chairperson of the judges, says the quality of the entries has increased despite their circumstances and that these pupils proved to be worthy of the programme.
