#ANCvsANC case back in court tomorrow─── OLEBOGENG MOTSE 16:19 Wed, 06 Feb 2019
The legal counsel for the Free State ANC leadership in the much-publicised ANCvsANC court case says they will be back in court tomorrow.
This as it has been alleged that the firm, Moroka Attorneys, is intending to use delaying tactics by withdrawing as counsel for the ANC provincial leaders who are the respondents. This allegation is laid out in a letter from Selepe Attorneys – for the applicants – addressed to the legal team of the provincial party. According to the letter in OFM News’ possession the firm, Moroka Attorneys, intends on informing the Free State High Court tomorrow, February 7, that they have not been paid by their clients and are therefore withdrawing as their legal counsel. But Moroka Attorneys says the contents of the letter are false and it’s all systems go for tomorrow’s court appearance.
The applicants and ANC members Matshepo Ramakatsa, Lebeko Maile, Themba Mvandaba and Shashapa Motaung – approached the court in November last year challenging the outcome of the elective conference where MEC of Police, Roads, and Transport, Sam Mashinini, was elected ANC provincial chairperson, William Bulwane Deputy Chairperson, and Paseka Nompondo the Secretary. In the letter, Selepe Attorneys – representing the applicants – allege that it is Nompondo who let the cat out of the bag when announcing the leadership’s strategy at a meeting between regional members of the party. Monnapula Ntamo, speaking on behalf of the applicants, says upon receiving this information, they approached Dexter Selepe to put the letter together and send it to Moroka Attorneys.
