ANC NW’s PTT decisions to be reversed

ANC NW’s PTT decisions to be reversed | News Article

All decisions made by the ANC in the North West’s Interim Task Team that was appointed in place of the recently reinstated Provincial Executive Committee must now be reversed.

These decisions include the recent reshuffling of MECs in the province, the disbandment of the regional executive committees, and the removal of mayors who were implicated in last year’s VBS mutual bank saga. News24 reported that this comes after Supra Mahumapelo reigned victorious in the Gauteng High Court last week after the judge ruled that the ANC national’s decision last year to disband the PEC he was the chairperson of, was unlawful. OFM News’ Pulane Choane reports that the party’s national structure wants to focus on fostering peace within the province ahead of the general elections.

OFM News earlier reported that Deputy President, David Mabuza, was scheduled for a meeting with Mahumapelo and his reinstated team of executives over the weekend as part of a special forces team delegated to the province by President Cyril Ramaphosa. The meeting is said to have taken place yesterday and Mabuza will later this week provide a report on the outcomes of the meeting.

Meanwhile, Jacaranda FM also reports that it was resolved that the committee would make proposals to the ANC secretary general's office on the running of the PEC once the current term of office expires tomorrow.

While the party had earlier expressed its intention to appeal the court decision which ruled in Mahumapelo’s favour, it for now will remain, mum, until it has filed papers on the matter. OFM News tried numerous times to contact ANC National spokespersons Zizi Kodwa and Dakota Legoete, as well as the ANC in the North West’s spokesperson, Kabelo Mataboge, with no avail. This is a developing story.
