#ANCvsANC: Disgruntled ANC members threatens to withdraw votes | News Article

Disgruntled members of the ANC, who lost a court case against the party's Provincial Executive Committee (PEC), caused much commotion outside the Free State High Court in Bloemfontein on Thursday morning.

The members were furious at the court's decision to dismiss its application to have the Provincial Executive Committee (PEC) declared invalid and unconstitutional.

A spokesperson for the applicants, Monnapule Ntamo, addressed angry members outside the court.

He told the disgruntled members to defy the ANC in its whole totality and further encouraged them to discourage members of the public, and to not vote for the party on the oncoming general election.

This follows after the ANC Secretary General, Paseka Mpondo, told OFM News that the party was not bothered by those taking the ANC to court.

Mpondo expressed satisfaction at the court judgment and said members of the ANC must come and join forces to work together to address the scourge of poverty in disadvantaged communities in the province.

Judge Fouche Jordaan, in his judgment, said he was not convinced by the applicants' head argument and that they disregarded the most vital factors in the case when failed to consider that the ANC did re-run the election of Branch General Meetings.

Speaking outside the court precinct the counsel for the applicants, Hano Bekker, told OFM News that as things stand there are high possibilities that the matter might be challenged in the Constitutional Court.
