Police spokesperson, Stephen Thakeng, tells OFM News that on Tuesday, at about 06:30 in the morning, seven suspects attacked and overpowered two of the three farm workers at gunpoint before tying them up with shoelaces while the third ran away.

He says suspects used a window to gain entrance to the house after which they took a 9mm Parabellum firearm from the safe before fleeing the scene on foot. He adds that the farmer, Leonard Roberts, was not at home when the robbery took place and no injuries were reported to the police. Thakeng says a case of armed robbery was registered for further investigation and pleaded with residents to assist in tracing these armed robbers.

“Should anyone have information leading to the arrests of these armed robbery suspects, they can contact Detective Joseph Matshediso of the Hertzogville Detective Services at 072-138-0176,” Thakeng concluded.
