#Election2019: DA launches FS manifesto─── 07:35 Sun, 10 Mar 2019
The DA's premier candidate for the Free State, Patricia Kopane, has promised a clean, open and transparent government that fights corruption, delivers services, opens up investment opportunities and creates jobs, should she be elected to office.
She was addressing supporters at Botshabelo near Bloemfontein during the party's provincial election manifesto launch yesterday.
Kopane reminded voters that on the 8th of May they will have a chance to claim their power and install a government that will realise a dream of a One South Africa For All with equal opportunities.
"Our provincial plan, while uniquely Free State in content, isund erpinned by the DA’s national policies to improve the lives and livelihoods of all South Africans. This plan, together with various other policies and strategies are tested in various DA-governed metros, municipalities and the Western Cape Province," said Kopane.
"The DA offers the tested alternative for the people of the Free State where we will improve delivery of basic services, implement sound administrations and financial management, expose and punish corruption and bring meaningful changes to the lives of our people," she added.
Kopane explained the agenda for change will ensure the following:
•Stop corruption and prosecute corrupt officials;
•Speed up service delivery in every Free State municipality;
•Create fair access to long-term jobs;
•Develop integrated and sustainable human settlements;
•Ensure a land reform process that contributes to sustainable food security; and
•Establish honest and professional police service.
"Under a DA government, the Free State will reach its potential. Our plan to achieve this is by exposing and prosecuting corruption at all spheres of government and ensure that public funds are appropriately used to benefit the people first.
"These kinds of interventions will see the provincial government and municipalities able to speed up quality basic services for the benefit of our people," said Kopane.
