Moqhaka responds to protests in Kroonstad─── PULANE CHOANE 15:32 Thu, 04 Apr 2019

The Moqhaka Local Municipality in the Free State says it has received a letter from residents of the Brent Park area, stating that they are not happy with the municipality’s response with regards to solving the challenges it is currently facing.
This is according to the municipal spokesperson, Dika Kheswa, who told OFM News that this comes after the municipality had a meeting with the community last week Monday, after residents protested on the 13th of March demanding job opportunities, the filling of potholes, and better basic service delivery such as water and electricity, amongst others.
He further states that contrary to what is stated in the letter, it is also not true that the municipality has not yet responded to the issues the residents raised as a delegation from the municipality, including the mayor, explained last week Monday that some of the demands made by the community, would take longer than others.
