It’s D-day for all of the accused in the Louis Siemens murder case in Bloemfontein on Thursday when Prosecutor Johan de Nysschen is expected to have the indictment into the matter finalised.
All the suspects alleged to have been involved both directly and indirectly in Siemens’ murder will make what is believed to be their final appearance in the town’s Magistrate’s Court a month before the one-year anniversary of the businessman’s murder in the basement parking area of Preller Square. De Nysschen confirmed that all suspects, who are between the ages of 29 and 56 years, will appear for a possible Free State High Court trial date.
They are Stanley Bakili, Mogoera Molebatsi, Kagiso Chabane, Mojalefa Jali Molusi, Moeketsi Lesia, Karabo Tau, Sizwe Mpati, and Clive Tshivenga. Xolisile Mbebetho confessed to the crime and was convicted in November 2018 of pulling the trigger that ended Siemens’ life. Mbebetho was sentenced to 22 years in jail by the High Court and in turn, became the state’s witness.
