#PrellerSquareShooting: No High Court date yet─── LUCKY NKUYANE 12:20 Thu, 11 Apr 2019
The murder case of the slain Bloemfontein businessman, Louis Siemens, has had yet another delay with the indictment in the case yet to be finalised by the state for a High Court appearance.
A courtroom packed with friends and family only saw two suspects - the Bayswater police captain, Moeketsi Lesia, and a repeat offender, Mojalefa Jali Molusi - appearing before the magistrate on Thursday.
Standing in for State Prosecutor De Nysschen, Johan de Vries told the magistrate that the indictment in the case is 85 percent complete and he is aware that there is a possibility of new evidence being added in the case.
The magistrate, in the absence of the two police officers, Bayswater detective Mogoera Molebatsi and court orderly Kagiso Chabane, and the alleged mastermind, Stanley Bakili, postponed the case to 16 May 2019 to establish the High Court date in the matter.
Meanwhile, two other co-accused, Karabo Tau and Sizwe Mpati, will appear in the same magistrate’s court this afternoon for a bail application. The accused in the case are facing charges that include murder, conspiracy to commit murder, and extortion.
