This, as representatives of all the parties signed the electorates' code of conduct today during a signing ceremony held in Bloemfontein. 

All the parties, including the 11 newly formed parties, pledged to ensure that the elections are free and fair. They all committed themselves to serve the country with honesty and integrity.  

As the representatives recited their party's mandates, they all agreed to adhere to laws governing elections in the country and committed to ensuring there will be no violence while they campaign and that the election will not be disrupted. The parties have committed to reinforcing a culture of tolerance towards other parties contesting the election.

Many have further vowed to be transparent and honest in their election campaign trails as the country is left with less than a month to the much-anticipated May elections.

The IEC's Provincial Manager, Itumeleng Liba, said they are pleased that all political parties contesting this election commit to abide by the rules and regulations of the commission.

He further confirmed the IEC's state of readiness for the elections and that it's all systems go.
