The fiancé of Johan Pienaar, the owner of the farm Hibernia, tells OFM News that she and her family, including her young daughter who is, like her, allergic to bees, were in the city on Thursday 11 April when they were called by one of their employees informing them a swarm of bees surrounded their three dogs and within seconds, managed to kill the animals.

She tells on another farm in the area chicken and geese were also recently attacked and killed by bees. She wishes to warn other farmers in the area to keep a look-out for the highly aggressive bees and ensure that their animals and people are protected.
