This community meeting follows the engagement sessions, Premier Job Mokgoro, held early last week with the Bakwena-Ba-Mogopa Royal Family and the Traditional Council.

This was held with the hopes of reflecting on the issues affecting the functionality of the Council following allegations of maladministration.

OFM News previously reported that in an effort to try and deal with issues plaguing the council, Mokgoro said he would facilitate and speed up the Special Investigative Unit's (SIU) investigations into the allegations.

Mokgoro said the investigation by the SIU will pave a way to allay fears and concerns of the people who wrote a letter to the premier asking him to intervene in the matter.

Mokgoro met with Bapo-Ba-Mogale in Bapong and Bakwena-Ba-Mogopa outside Brits to find a way forward after all parties agreed that the allegations of maladministration rendered the council to be dysfunctional.

Kgosi Mamogale said the move by Mokgoro had been greatly received and appreciated.

The community meeting is expected to be attended by Bakwena-Ba-Mogopa.
