FS mom speaks out on son’s murder─── OLEBOGENG MOTSE 13:58 Tue, 21 May 2019
All Jane Leteane wanted was for the father of her teenage son to pay future maintenance, but instead he got a hitman to kill their 17-year old.
She said in an exclusive interview with OFM News that she demanded approximately R200 000 from newly retired teacher Tebogo Molatole in future maintenance. Although Molatole has always been paying maintenance for 17-year old Kearabetswe Leteane, Molatole and his wife now demanded a paternity test. Jane says she was surprised when the couple started demanding these tests.
One afternoon, in April last year, Kearabetswe was found lying in a pool of blood, in a backroom at his father’s house after his cousin had gone to the local tuckshop to purchase some snacks. He just came from soccer practice when he was shot in the chest and head in the Gladstone Trust outside Thaba’Nchu. On Monday, May 20 – more than a two years after his death - the Free State High Court in Bloemfontein found Tebogo and his current wife Kelebogile Molatole, who are between the ages of 47 and 50 - guilty of plotting 17-year old’s murder.
The pair and the assassin the 53-year old Khoeliea-Morena Sefuthi have all been sentenced to life in prison each. Jane says she had such high hopes for her son’s future and finds it painful to talk of what her son’s life could have been. She says he was a pleasant teenager, well-liked by his community and a very good soccer player that did not deserve to be killed like a dog. “I have healed, because my family was very much supportive. I am standing, because of my family. Truly speaking I didn’t go to counselling or a therapist. My family was there for me through thick and thin, especially my mother” says Jane.
