Police spokesperson, Stephen Thakeng, says the couple, aged 68 and 71, were robbed of their possessions - including cell phones and cash - by an intruder at their home in Doorn in Welkom.

Thakeng says the elderly couple were threatened with a screwdriver by a suspect who might be between the ages of 25 to 30.

He adds that although the incident was reported late last year, the police have drawn up an identikit of the suspect to help with the investigations.

They appeal to all members of the community who might have information that could lead to the arrest to come forward.
