The municipality says this as the municipality is busy with the replacement of a valve at the Brandkop Reservoir and the interruptions will last for at least 8 hours. In a statement, the municipality confirms that the areas which include, Pellissier, Fauna and Fichardt Park will be affected with low water pressure. The municipality has further urged residents, businesses, schools, and consumers in the affected areas to make the necessary arrangements for the gathering of water for the purpose of cooking, washing, and cleaning, amongst others, for that period. Meanwhile, this comes a few days after Bloem Water and Mangaung Metro reached an agreement after the water utility reduced the bulk water supply to the Metro by almost 30%.

This followed the metro’s alleged failure to pay its water bill. According to Bloem Water’s executive for operations and maintenance, Maruping Rapudungoane, the restrictions came after the metro defaulted on payments since January this year. The MMM has, however, apologised for the inconvenience this may have caused.
