Lengau testing centre reopens after maintenance issues

Lengau testing centre reopens after maintenance issues | News Article

The Lengau Testing Centre in Bloemfontein will from this morning be open following its closure owing to maintenance problems at its eye testing station.

This is according to the Free State Department of Police, Roads and Transport, which in a statement yesterday announced that it has resolved the issues it experienced at the said station which had previously compromised employee workflow and service delivery at the centre where residents test for vehicle licenses, and renew existing licences, among other services offered there.

Other functions at the centre, however, remained functional and open to the public.

Despite resolving this problem, the provincial department announced that it faces another challenge at its Thaba Nchu Testing Station, which is about 50 kilometers outside Bloemfontein.

The department also stated that its Thaba Nchu testing station is also currently experiencing maintenance issues and will only reopen next week Friday, on 7 June. The Departmental spokesperson, Hillary Mophete, in a statement said a contractor is, however, on site to correct the issues at hand. She also further adds that the Department has arranged transport for residents of Thaba Nchu who will be affected by this.

Mophete says every day at 09:00 and again at 11:30, the Department will transport users of the station to the Botshabelo, Bloemfontein and Ladybrand Testing stations and transport will only return back to Thaba Nchu once everyone at these mentioned centres has been assisted.
