The newly appointed sixth administration in Central South Africa is expected to crack the whip against the manifestation of corruption.

This as all three premiers of the Northern Cape, North West and Free State promised to come down hard on those busy perpetuating the cycle of corruption in these provinces. FS premier Sisi Ntombela and her counterpart, Job Mokgoro, issued a stern warning to newly appointed officials to desist from any activities of corruption and also promised to come down hard on those implicated. These are the two provinces that had to deal with two massive issues of corruption that includes the controversial multimillion-rand Vrede Dairy Farm project and Mediosa, where both former premiers, Ace Magashule and Supra Mahumapelo, were accused of undue influence and corruption. Also, the newly elected premier of the Northern Cape, Zamani Saul, says there will be no new vehicles for MEC's in his province, as the provincial government is trying to cut unnecessary spending by officials.

Saul on Tuesday promised a ''people-centred'' provincial government, saying that budgeted funds for new vehicles for MECs will be utilised to purchase ambulances instead. This as on Wednesday he is expected to announce members of his new cabinet, which he said would be smaller due to the reconfiguration of some of the departments. Last year several departments were placed under administration. In total, 14 of the 22 municipalities in the province are also under administration. The province saw some of the highest recorded service delivery protests in the country. During his inaugural address at the Mmabatho Convention Centre in Mahikeng, Saul warned his incoming provincial council to take cues from his office and ensure government works in the interest of its communities.
