Tributes pour in for late broadcaster─── 12:41 Wed, 29 May 2019

Condolences continue to pour in for veteran radio personality and founding member of Mosupatsela FM, Sello Mosala, who passed away on Monday. Mosupatsela FM is a community radio station based in Botshabelo.
Mosala died at the age of 55 following a long illness.
Mosala was different things to many people - a radio presenter, a father, a brother and a colleague.
His broadcasting credentials began when he joined the radio station at its inception in 2000. He worked as a presenter, programmes manager, acting station manager and a board member before leaving briefly to work for the Mangaung Metro.
Mosala spent a few years at the Metro before returning as the station’s manager on a full-time basis.
Lele Mamatu, a close friend and former chairperson of Mosupatsela FM’s board of directors, worked closely with Mosala when he founded the station.
He says he was a friend, a brother and a comrade. “I have worked with him since we’ve established the station.”
Mamatu says they traversed the terrain together.
”As a broadcaster, he was a cut above the rest. He was one of the finest ever produced, not only in the province but in the entire country - an outstanding feature. His desire to share his skills was overwhelming,” Mamatu added.
Mosala was also a member of the National Community Radio Forum.
He will be remembered for his larger than life personality which touched many, Mamatu said.
The acting station manager, Juwani Fubane, says the station lost a great leader and a visionary.
He says he was a well-rounded, loving, easy-going individual who loved his job.
Fubane added that he took the station from nowhere and made it one of the fastest growing community radio stations in the Free State.
“We shall miss him so much, he was indeed our father and our leader who would always provide sound advice, even to the upcoming presenters,” Fubane said.
During his tenure, Mosala took the station’s listenership to almost 200 000 and the number was steadily growing under his leadership.
The details of the memorial service and funeral are yet to be announced by the family but it is expected to be next weekend.
