F4SD embroiled in a court battle with councillors─── LUCKY NKUYANE 09:08 Thu, 13 Jun 2019
The Forum 4 Service Delivery (F4SD) is embroiled in a court battle with councillors who took the party to the North West High Court after being expelled from the party recently.
This as the councillors allege that those asking questions about the financial statements of the party were being targeted and removed from the party. However, F4SD president, Mbahare Kekana, tells OFM News that the councillors are not dismissed but removed as deployees of the party and says no-one is born deployed.
He says to stay deployed within the party, takes hard work, fuelling speculations that removing them might be the backdrop of the party’s dismal show during the 8 May 2019 sixth democratic election. Kekane expressed confidence at the chance of emerging victorious at the High Court but he, however, declined to comment further saying the matter is still before the court and it is expected to sit on Thursday 13 June 2019.
Media reports suggest that the councillors claim that they contribute 15% of their salaries to the party as a pledge each month, but do not know what happened to that money. Their case would be heard at the North West High Court in Mmabatho on Thursday, where they have asked the court to reinstate their membership.
The party earlier, on election day, launched a scathing attack at the Electoral Commission of South Africa's (IEC) chairperson, Glen Mashinini, for accompanying President Cyril Ramaphosa to a voting station in Soweto. Kekana said the IEC was supposed to be impartial, independent and treat all parties equally. Kekana said Mashinini's conduct was unfair and irrational.
