Malema to return to Bloemfontein court─── 09:47 Fri, 05 Jul 2019
The EFF's leader Julius Malema still have to face a charge of contravening the apartheid-era Riotous Assemblies Act in the Bloemfontein Magistrate’s Court after his court bid to have this Act declared unconstitutional was dismissed on Thursday.
He approached the North Gauteng High Court earlier and judgment was not in his favour. Malema was charged with contravening the act and has to appear in the Bloemfontein and KwaZulu-Natal Magistrate’s Courts on these charges. The charges were laid after his encouragement of EFF members to invade vacant land during one of the party's elective conferences in 2014. He is expected to again appear in the Bloemfontein Magistrate’s Court on 8 November.
