NW murder accused gets bail─── KATLEHO MORAPELA 17:18 Tue, 30 Jul 2019
The case against a 41-year-old North West man accused of killing and burying his girlfriend in a shallow grave has been postponed to 4 September.
Hendrik Molehe appeared briefly before the Bray Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday where he was granted a R10 000 bail after he was arrested last week in connection with the murder of his 35-year-old girlfriend.
OFM News previously reported that it is alleged the suspect killed and buried the victim in a shallow grave on a farm where they worked.
The victim, whose name cannot be revealed, was last seen with the suspect on the first weekend of July and was reported missing by her family on the 21st of July.
Police spokesperson, Amanda Funani, says the police intervened when the community of Matlhoding, just over 100 kilometres outside Mahikeng, became suspicious of the suspect and started questioning him.
She says information received led the police to the farm where he allegedly buried the victim. Funani added that after discovering the decomposed body, it was exhumed from the shallow grave and then taken to the local mortuary.
