SA banks facing biggest strike since 1920─── 13:25 Tue, 06 Aug 2019
South Africa's banking sector is facing one of its biggest strike actions since 1920.
The South African Society of Bank Officials (Sasbo) is planning to down tools over planned mass retrenchments.
The union has around 73,000 members across the country.
General Secretary, Joel Kokela, says members will go on strike for two days next month.
Union officials say all avenues to avoid mass job losses across the sector must first be explored.
