Thieves target FS library again─── 10:13 Wed, 07 Aug 2019
The RJR Masiea Children's Library in Phuthaditjhaba, Qwaqwa, in the Free State was once again targeted by thieves.
This, after a cable that supplies electricity to the library was stolen for the second time in less than a year.
According to the assistant librarian, Joseph Motaung, the library has been without electricity for more than a month. He says the conditions have affected all library users heavily.
Motaung told OFM News that the worst part is that no one from the municipality is coming up with a plan on how to add value. He further explained that he is unhappy because some of the library users put the blame on the individuals who work at the library as they feel that not enough is being done to ensure that there is electricity.
Motaung humbly asks that those responsible for the electricity in the Maluti-A-Phofung municipality should repair it.
Motaung also requested that the municipality supply security officials to the library, as it has been turned into a thieves playground.
