Aurora court case postponed | News Article

Aurora's former directors appeared briefly in the Springs Magistrate's Court on Wednesday.

Magistrate Khensani Moila granted the defence's request for a postponement.

The trial has now been rescheduled for 5 November.

Khulubuse Zuma, Zondwa Mandela and Thulani Ngubane face charges under the National Water Act.

They are accused of causing environmental and water transgressions.

It's alleged they failed to treat underground water at the Grootvlei mine before releasing it into the Blesbokspruit River.

In 2015, the Pretoria High Court found the trio personally guilty and liable for R1.7-billion in damages.

This after more than 5,000 workers lost their jobs at the Aurora mine.
