This is according to the departmental spokesperson, Howard Ndaba. This service will be held on Sunday at 10:00 at the Eagle Christian Church in Bloemfontein. The service comes ahead of the learner’s trial examinations, which will start next week Tuesday.

Ndaba said that this initiative, which is one the provincial department embarks on every year, is one way of ensuring that the learners receive support from the community, in this instance being the churches that offer these prayers to the learners.

Various stakeholders, including the Free State Department of Education’s district and senior managers, are expected to attend the event, as well as church leaders, congregants, parents and the affected learners. “The attendees will be dressed in their graduation regalia to encourage and motivate learners. Learners from the following secondary schools - Ikaelelo, Kaelang, Lekhulong, Hodisa, Lereko, Moemedi, and Tsoseletso – will participate,” Ndaba concluded.
