This after the project was completed by Eskom. This is a life-changing moment for the residents of this area, as it took more than six years to get electricity in their homes.

Furthermore, Phooko took his 100 days Mayoral Service Delivery Programme to some of the less fortunate families at the Dawie Malan smallholdings in Kroonstad, where he assisted with the distribution of beds and food parcels to families. 

He handed over 200 packets of sanitary towels to residents of Winnie Madikizela-Mandela View in Matlwangtlwang. This is a newly established area with 605 residential sites and already there is progress with regards to basic service delivery, such as water, sanitation and electricity. The Moqhaka municipality’s Communication Officer, Dika Kheswa, explained that this was the first phase of the sanitation project and the second phase will soon be implemented, depending on the availability of resources.
