Student advocate not deterred by arrest─── 10:05 Sat, 07 Sep 2019
The Sedibeng EFF student command chairperson, Zwivhuya Nemukangoni, has vowed to continue protesting and advocating for the student's interests, until their academic grievances are properly addressed.
This is despite his arrest on Friday (6 September), where he was later released on a warning by the Vanderbijlpark police.
His arrest stems from an illegal gathering of students on campus, where he intended to address gender-based violence issues and also to listen to students’ grievances about their National Student Financial Aid Scheme allowances (NSFAS), which he says is still pending.
OFM News reported earlier this year students from various campuses staged marches regarding their allowances allegedly not having been paid since 2018.
