Another lead in nine-year-old NC case | News Article

Kimberley police are awaiting the results of DNA tests of a girl that was linked to Rehana Kwena Moshoeshoe, a girl from Kimberley Girls’ High School, who went missing nine years ago.

Spokesperson Sergio Kock spoke to OFM confirming that social media posts that linked the woman from Pretoria to Moshoeshoe – saying she looks the same. Moshoeshoe disappeared at the age of 16.

However, the public has been sharing photos of a girl that may look the same as her and who is living in Pretoria. The girl is seen in a YouTube video where she talks about her background.

The DNA sample is expected to confirm whether there may be any correlation between the two girls, says Kock. The police also warned social media users not to speculate around this matter until the results have been released, as this is a sensitive matter. Kock says although there is a backlog at the laboratory, Kimberley police has requested the matter to be prioritised.
