Water interruptions on the cards for Kby─── KATLEHO MORAPELA 07:47 Mon, 23 Sep 2019
Residents in the Northern Cape capital city of Kimberley will this week have to brace themselves for reduced water supply.
This, after the Sol Plaatje Municipality confirmed that there is a planned water supply interruption from Thursday to Saturday.
Municipal spokesperson, Sello Matsie, says the interruption forms part of their infrastructure upgrades and urges members of the community to use water sparingly. He explains that the upgrades includes connection of water pipes at the New Riverton Pump Station and the repairs on the 965mm main line, which will affect supply to Kimberley and surrounding areas.
Matsie says it is foreseen that the water supply will be back at full capacity by Saturday afternoon.
