Water shutdown on the cards for Kimberley─── KATLEHO MORAPELA 16:08 Wed, 02 Oct 2019
Residents in the Northern Cape capital city of Kimberley will, during the course of the next two days, have to embrace themselves for a total shutdown of water supply.
This, after the Sol Plaatje Municipality confirmed that there is a planned water supply interruption as of tonight. Municipal spokesperson, Sello Matsie, says the interruption forms part of their infrastructure upgrades and urges members of the community to fill up their water tanks and use water sparingly.
Matsie says the upgrades include the connection of water pipes at the New Riverton Pump Station and the repairs on the 965mm mainline, which will affect supply to Kimberley and surrounding areas.
Matsie says he foresees that the water supply will again be at full capacity by Friday evening.
