On Wednesday three people lost their lives and scores were left injured during an accident between a private car and Provincial Ambulance on the R721 between Vredefort and Kroonstad.

Another accident a day later claimed four lives and also left multiple injured on the R703 in Verkeerdevlei, after two minibus taxis collided head-on about 39 kilometres south-east of Brandfort in the Masilonyana municipality.
