It is alleged that the drunk mother unknowingly fell asleep on top of her toddler last night, 24 December 2019.

Paramedics and forensic officials were called to the scene this morning and the toddler was declared dead. According to police spokesperson, Amanda Funani, a case has not yet been opened as police await the post-mortem results which will only be available on Friday, 27 December 2019, due to the holidays.

Funani confirmed to OFM News that police have not arrested the mother as the cause of the toddler's death is not yet confirmed.
